From the way he walks, to the way he talks, Rick is bad news.
With that foul mouth, mischievous demeanor, and bad attitude the Downtown boy from a broken home is someone I should have had more sense to stay clear of.
But that’s the trouble with bad news, isn’t it? You can either run from it or face it head on and, unfortunately, I can’t seem to run from Rick.
See, Rick has set his sights on me and, as much as I hate to say it, I’m falling for him.
Of course, we don’t stand a chance. I was raised in Uptown and I’m heading to college next year, so eventually I’ll have to end this – whatever this thing is.
I just hope when I do, I don’t break the bad boy any more than he’s already broken – and I really hope he doesn’t hurt himself when we both find out how broken I am as well.

I can’t deny that I’m drawn to him.

Teddy is young – only twenty – so I know I’m too old for him.

I just wish Teddy would realize that I’m too old for him.
The sooner he figures out that we are not meant to be together, the easier it will be for me to find a new home.
Because I can’t afford the one I live in now.
And I especially can’t afford to keep making all these memories in a house with a young man who’s been beating himself up for more.
